Filling in your Star profile
A published but empty profile is no use. Here is how to fill it so it works for you.
Expertise: be specific
Section titled “Expertise: be specific”This is the most important field, because it is what property managers search on.
Use the words a client would type, not your trade vocabulary. People search for “plumber”, “electrician”, “mason” — the plain terms.
Be honest about your scope. Ticking fifteen areas to appear everywhere gets you called for work you do not want, and wastes everyone’s time. A precise profile draws fewer calls, but better ones.
The description: three things
Section titled “The description: three things”A good description is a few lines and answers:
- What you actually do.
- For whom — property managers, private clients, businesses.
- What sets you apart — a speciality, a response time, a certification, years in the trade.
Avoid “serious, dynamic and attentive”. Everyone writes it, it distinguishes nobody. “24-hour plumbing call-outs across canton Vaud, 15 years’ experience” says far more.
Your service area
Section titled “Your service area”State where you actually travel. A property manager calling you about a job 80 km away wastes their time and yours.
Complete it fully
Section titled “Complete it fully”TAYO.pro shows a list of next steps to strengthen your profile.
An incomplete profile is not penalised in the ranking of results. But a property manager landing on an empty page has no reason to call you: the gain is in what they read, not in a ranking effect.
The tip that counts
Section titled “The tip that counts”Re-read your profile from the property manager’s point of view. They have three providers in front of them and thirty seconds to choose. Does your page give them a reason to call you?
